Calf and foot stretching exercises

We often advise our patients to do stretches at home and while we all have the best intentions, some of us may forget once we’ve left the clinic. So, here are some short videos clearly showing what to do.

Wall Lunges

This is a great stretch for your calfs (gastric and soleus), hamstring and glute muscles. Wall lunges can help with conditions such as Plantar Fasciopathy, and Achilles Tendinopathy.

Stair stretch

An excellent stretch for your calf muscles. Calf muscles can be tight if a person has a flat foot type, Plantar Fasciopathy, shin splints, hip problems and back problems. By stretching these muscles, you can help relieve pain and discomfit from these problems.

Calf stretch with towel

This stretch can help maintain or improve flexibility in your calf muscles, plantar fascia and Achilles tendon. Benefits of this stretch include that it can help prevent shin splints, help with Plantar Fasciopathy and can help muscles and joint move freely during activity.
